Micro Needling

A considered approach to smoother, healthier-looking skin.

Skin needling is a collagen-stimulating treatment designed to improve the appearance and texture of the skin over time. By creating controlled micro-injuries in the skin, the treatment activates the skin’s natural repair response and supports collagen and elastin production.

The Benefits of Skin Needling

Skin needling may help improve the appearance of:

  • Uneven skin texture – supporting a smoother, more refined-looking complexion.

  • Acne scarring – helping soften the appearance of certain types of atrophic acne scars over a course of treatments.

  • Fine lines – improving the appearance of early signs of skin ageing.

  • Uneven skin tone – supporting overall skin clarity and a more uniform-looking complexion.

  • Skin firmness – stimulating collagen and elastin production to support skin structure and resilience.

Results develop gradually as the skin remodels, rather than appearing overnight. A course of treatments is recommended, how many is dependant on your concerns, skin response and desired outcome.

Is Skin Needling Suitable for My Skin?

Skin needling can be suitable for many different skin types and concerns, making it a versatile option within a personalised skin treatment plan. However, it is not appropriate for everyone, and the depth of treatment and technique must be selected carefully.

During your consultation, our practitioners assess your skin, medical history and individual concerns to determine whether skin needling is appropriate. Particular care is needed for skin prone to pigmentation changes, and treatment may need to be postponed if you have active acne, infection, irritation or certain inflammatory skin conditions.

A Personalised Treatment Approach

Skin needling can be customised with a selection of professional products chosen to complement your skin’s needs and treatment goals.

Our practitioners select from formulations designed to target different concerns, including:

  • Brightening and radiance – vitamin-based formulations selected to support a brighter, more even-looking complexion.

  • Hydration – products designed to support skin hydration and leave the skin feeling smoother and more supple.

  • Texture and skin quality – targeted formulations featuring ingredients such as peptides, selected to complement your skin rejuvenation plan.

  • Skin revitalisation – formulations containing salmon-derived DNA ingredients, often referred to as polynucleotides, selected according to individual suitability and the intended use of the product.

Downtime and Recovery

After skin needling, it is normal for the skin to appear red and feel warm, tight or sensitive, similar to mild sunburn. The degree of redness varies depending on treatment depth and individual skin response. Redness often settles within 24–48 hours, although some people may experience sensitivity or visible redness for longer.

Mild swelling, dryness, flaking or temporary pinpoint marks may also occur as the skin recovers. Allow several days for the skin to settle, and plan your treatment with this recovery period in mind.

Aftercare

To support your skin’s recovery, we recommend:

  • Using gentle, non-irritating skincare and avoiding active ingredients such as retinoids and exfoliating acids until your practitioner advises they can be reintroduced.

  • Applying a suitable moisturiser to support the skin barrier.

  • Using broad-spectrum SPF 50+ sunscreen and avoiding excessive sun exposure.

  • Avoiding strenuous exercise, saunas, swimming and excessive heat during the initial recovery period, in accordance with your practitioner’s advice.

  • Avoiding picking, rubbing or exfoliating the treated skin while it heals.

Your practitioner will provide specific aftercare instructions based on your treatment and skin response.
