Limelight IPL

A brighter, more even-looking complexion.

Uneven pigmentation, sun damage and a lack of radiance can affect the overall appearance of your skin. IPL Limelight is an intense pulsed light treatment designed to target selected forms of pigmentation and uneven skin tone, helping support a clearer, more luminous-looking complexion.

A Progressive Approach to Skin Clarity

The number of treatments required varies depending on your skin, the type and extent of pigmentation, and your individual response. As a general guide, an initial course of one to three treatments may be recommended, followed by maintenance treatments to help manage the ongoing effects of sun exposure and natural skin ageing. Improvements often develop progressively over a course of treatments.

A Personalised Approach

Not all pigmentation is the same, and IPL is not suitable for every skin type or pigmentation concern. A thorough consultation is important to assess suitability, discuss potential benefits and risks, and establish realistic expectations.

Downtime and Recovery

Following IPL treatment, the skin may appear mildly red or flushed, similar to a light sunburn. This initial redness generally settles over the hours following treatment, although this can vary between individuals.

The pigmented areas will become darker over the days following treatment. This is an expected response as the treated pigment gradually rises towards the skin’s surface and sheds naturally. The darkened pigment usually sheds off in 5-10 days.

During this time, it is important to avoid picking, scratching or exfoliating the treated areas. Allow any darkened pigment to shed naturally, use gentle skincare, and apply broad-spectrum SPF 50+ sunscreen daily. Your practitioner will provide personalised aftercare advice.
